First Semester: Undergraduate Courses

General English

Year 1 - English for general purposes

This General English course explores contemporary issues. Students will critically engage with each topic, practicing debate skills to express opinions for and against, fostering open-mindedness, analytical thinking, and confidence in articulating diverse perspectives on modern societal debates.

General scientific English

Year 2 - Scientific English

An introduction to scientific English showing the main differences between the general and technical uses of language. The course includes an overlook of the following sciences: mathematics, computer science, chemistry, biology, physics and geology.

English for specific purposes

Year 3 - English for scientific purposes

Collection of eight individual courses. Each course explores some of the most innovative areas of scientific study. They are designed to expand students' technical vocabulary and the linguistic skills needed to disseminate scientific knowledge.

Year 2 - Scientific English project

This project-based learning course offers a comprehensive study of all the scientific elements involved in a crime investigation. You will learn to create the investigation file, and play the roles of investigators, science experts, witnesses, jugdes, lawyers and suspects, among others.

Undergraduate Year 3 Semester 1

Year 3 - Professional English

This project-based learning course deals with most situations in professional environments: posting job adverts, applying for job positions, writing resumes and cover letters, exchanging formal emails, succeeding at a job interview, making professional phone calls and other job-related tasks.
