But it is not enough to stop all Covid-19 patients dying or to lift the need for all restrictions. PART 3

In the meantime...
What about us? Are we following medical advice and doing all that is in our hand to stop the pandemic?

This video is from 30 November 2020. It shows how Americans are acting during the Thanksgiving Day holiday, but it can be extrapolated to any other country in Europe.

D. Now decide whether the following sentences are true or false.

1. "A surge on top of a surge" means that Americans are finally keeping the pandemic under control.

2. At least Americans are paying attention to warnings now.

3. There have been four million new deaths.

4. Travelling for Thanksgiving Day has been the busiest since the beginning of the pandemic.

5. The most used means of transport these days is individual cars.

6. Dr Burke says they are beginning a post-Thanksgiving search for patients.

7. Higher number of hospitalizations happen in big cities only.

8. Dr Walker is concerned that a lot of people will be sick for a long time.

9. Some quarterbacks in the NBA have also tested positive for COVID-19.

10. Players not wearing masks during celebrations will be severely fined.

11. Now the question is who will be vaccinated first.

12. According to the presenter, LA County will go into some sort of lockdown again tomorrow.

PART 4

Presentations
This semester's presentations will be recorded on video, so some of the skills we have practised in class over years may not be enough this time.

Michael Kinney is a video expert who owns a YouTube channel that I personally follow regularly to prepare fun contents for my classes.
Watch his video on the 20 tricks that will make you record a pro-style video for your presentations.

NOTE: Obviously, you don't need to follow all his pieces of advice, but he is very good at this and very pleasant to watch, so please listen to what he has to say.
